Democratic politician Joe Biden became the 46th President of the United States of America on January 20, 2021. He won more than 270 Electoral College votes in the November 3, 2020 election after securing the Democratic Party nomination to challenge Donald Trump for the position of US president. He previously served as the 47th vice-president of the United States under Barack Obama from 2009 to 2017, and was a United States Senator for Delaware from 1973 to 2009.
